how it works in practice

A hosting agreement.
Not a purchase.

You sign a hosting agreement with Xyrya. In exchange for space in your building — a plant room, basement, or external enclosure — we install and operate an energy system at our cost.

The system reduces your energy bill by automatically drawing from stored energy during expensive peak-rate periods. Your energy cost falls. A share of that saving is yours, guaranteed, every month.

We own the asset throughout. We maintain it. At the end of the agreement, we remove it at our cost. You are never liable for the hardware.

Peak demand reduction
Many commercial tariffs include a charge based on the highest demand recorded in any half-hour interval. The system discharges at peak moments, capping your demand and reducing this charge significantly.

Electricity costs more during peak-rate periods than overnight. The system charges from the grid when it is cheap and discharges when it is expensive. The difference in rate is your saving.

Better together.

A single building with an energy system can do a great deal. A network of buildings can do significantly more. As the Xyrya network grows, the aggregated capacity becomes eligible for national grid balancing services — demand response programmes that pay buildings to reduce consumption at specific moments. These revenue streams require scale to access. Buildings that join the network early benefit from these services as they become available, at terms that later entrants will not access in the same way.
